Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji de panna number 155 tak, the first volume of the Dasam Granth, covers the Sri Jap Sahib, Akal Ustat, Amrit Saray, Bachitra Natak, Chandee Charitra (first and second parts) and Chandian da Vaar, together with the Gyan Prabodh. It is a critical edition with commentary by the scholar Giani Naraain Singh ji, with textual research by Dr. Ajit Singh Aulakh of Bhai Raj Singh Sewa and publication by Bhai Jiwan Singh of Bazar Mai Sewan, Amritsar, first edition 1994, sixth edition June 2009, printed at Jiwan Printers, Amritsar. The title page points out the early editions in which the Chandee Charitra, Bachitra Natak and Gyan Prabodh did not appear. The text opens with the Jap Sahib in the measure of the first Guru, with each line given a word-by-word explanation in Punjabi.
