This is a second, revised edition of Punjabi Sahit Da Itihas (History of Punjabi Literature) by Dr Gopal Singh, M.A., Ph.D., who is described on the title page as editor of the literary journal Liberevar. It was printed at Gyan Ganga in Allahabad and carries a publication number dated 1927, so this edition appears to be from the first decades of the twentieth century. The contents leaf lists chapters including the poetry of Jnan Singh, romantic Punjabi poetry, the poetry of the modern period, the line (rekh) as a feature of Punjabi poetry, and the literary characteristics of the Guru Granth Sahib. Despite the damaged scan, the book's purpose is clear: a survey of the development of Punjabi poetry written for a scholarly readership.
