What this book is about

This volume is an index of rare and difficult words drawn from the Guru Granth Sahib, arranged alphabetically in Gurmukhi. The pages we could examine consist of entries in which each headword is followed by a romanised rendering of its pronunciation and a number referring to the page where the word is discussed or quoted, sometimes with several such references. A few entries are clear enough to show short explanatory notes in Gurmukhi, while the majority are reduced by the scan to near-nonsense combinations of characters. Because this is an index rather than continuous text, the useful information visible to us is the alphabetical structure and the reference numbers themselves; we cannot describe individual entries with confidence from this scan.
