Bachitar Natak
What this book is about
Bachitar Natak: Sarup Ate Darshnikta (Bachitar Natak: Form and Interpretation), with some elements of Sikh philosophy, is a critical study by Dr Harbhajan Singh published in 2015 by Bithak Prakashan, Chowk Katra Ahluwalia, Amritsar. The preface explains that controversy over the Dasam Granth has run strongest in the Sikh communities of America and Canada, and that after a 2013 seminar in San Jose on its hidden meaning the situation became somewhat controlled; the author then sets out his own reasoning, including his rejection of the reading advanced in Charitropakhyan of certain lines as unsuitable, and his view that Bachitar Natak is itself a work of Kal-Mahima and is named in the opening verses of Akal Ustatt. He argues that Kal and Akal are inseparable in the Dasam Granth and that reading Kal with reference to time is meaningless, asking instead for a plain and direct commentary on Jugad Sacha. The book closes with an appeal to Sant Man Singh Jodh Singh Ji of Manav Ashram and Dr Jodh Singh Ji of Punjabi University, Patiala.
