Volume V, Part II of Bhai Vir Singh's collected works, containing Kalgidhar Chamatkar, his epic poem recounting the martyrdom of Bhai Taru Singh and Bhai Hemu in Akal Takht Darbar in 1709. The text is in the verse form, chhand and kavitt, in which Vir Singh says the incident must be sung rather than prosaically told. Published by the Language Department, Punjab, this printing is the third edition of 2011, the second having appeared in 1987 and the first in 1973, with 5,000 copies; it was brought out on the occasion of Vir Singh's ninetieth birth anniversary, having been recovered from his papers along with his other original writings by the department.
