About this book
This is a manuscript of the Dasam Granth Sahib, from the early to mid 1700s written by Bhai Daya Singh, the first Panj Pyara of Guru Gobind Singh. This saroop contains the Zafarnama and Hikayat as well, and I would like to clarify that due to the way that Perso-Arabic script is written, the Persian texts at the end of the text will read backwards, from right to left, and it starts from the larger page number to the lower page number. Thus, when you first see the Zafarnama/Hikayat, you will be at the end, as they are to be read backwards. This manuscript also has some banis not found in the standardized Dasam Granth Sahib, known as the Asfottak Banis. Kamalroop Singh says in his book that this manuscript is made from Arabic Paper and resembles Dasam Granth manuscripts from the late 1700s. I also heard from a scholar that this bir is from 1824ad, but I don't know the evidence for this. The first page in tatkara is missing, if someone has it and could provide it to me ([email protected]) I will edit the page. Many thanks. If anyone else has found an internal date in the birh please send. Seva done by Bhai Sarabjeet Singh, very nice man. Maharashtra Sewa- Sarabjeet Singh, Aurangabad 9823561111
