What this book is about
First volume of Bhai Kahn Singh Naba's encyclopaedia, a monumental Punjabi-language dictionary of Sikh and Punjabi learning first published in 1930 in four parts. Its preface by Dr Jaspal Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University, Patiala, explains that it is an unbound treasury of knowledge containing quotations in their original Gurmukhi from Gurbani, Sikh literature and Persian sources, arranged under Gurmukhi letter headings, and that the University republished it in a revised edition with the author's own corrections and additions integrated. This reprint was brought out by the Department of Punjabi Language Development, Panjab University, Patiala, printed at Sunderjan Press Amritsar and published by Messrs Anand Sanz, Delhi.
