What this book is about

This is a second edition, dated July 2010, of a commentary on Japji Sahib, compiled at the instance of Giani Pritam Singh, personal secretary of Sant Singh Ji Maskin, and Jagbir Singh, personal assistant and manager of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Both Maskin and his two assistants are described as having given explanations of Japji Sahib from time to time at various Gurmati gatherings, and this volume collects those explanations in book form. The publisher's note explains the editors' aim of making the collected teachings available in print, and the second preface by Joginder Singh, whom Guru Harigobind Sahibji calls a servant of the Guru path, states his reason for editing: that readers gain knowledge of the Guru's teachings from Japji Sahib as the earliest scripture of the Guru Granth Sahib, and that daily remembrance of it brings work to completion. The book is published by Bhajtar Singh Jiwan Singh of Bazaar Mai Sewan, Amritsar, and printed at Jeevan Printers, Amritsar.
