First part of a critical edition of Pracheen Panth Prakash, the 57th volume of the Gurbani Prakash series, prepared at Budha Dal Panchayat Takht, Patiala. The title page is badly damaged in this scan, but the colophon shows it printed at the Budha Dal Panchayat Takht Printing Press, Lohar Mal Road, Patiala, under jathedar Diyal Singh, released at the Damdama Sahib, Fateh Sahib on 5 June 2000. The preface in Budha Dal Punjabi traces the text back to Bhai Ratan Singh Bhai, Guru Gobind Singh's contemporary who recorded the Guru's own words under Guru Granth Sahib Chandigarh and Guru Ram Das Dhayia at their feet; the opening chapter is on the birth of the first Khalsa at Anandpur.
