What this book is about

The second volume of the Sau Sahi, the traditional Puranbi Sauraseni collection of the hundred anecdotes of the Guru's life, attributed to Bhai Mani Singh Pupat Singh Mehta. A publisher's preface explains that the work had come down in four parts attributed to Mani Singh, was first printed in two Punjabi parts and that the copies of the first part were lost in transit, so only the second part is here, in the author's view a work in its own right. It was published by Bhai Vir Singh's firm at Bazar Mai Sewan, Amritsar, and printed by Harbhajan Singh at Jeevan Printers, Chaw Passian, Amritsar, at Rs 150. The text is arranged by tuk groups such as Savai, Sodhi, Dhanasari and Jaitsari, each sahi printed as the Braj 'mool' line followed by an 'arth' rendering the meaning in Punjabi.
