What this book is about
This is a devotional reader, the Sundar Gutka Steek, containing selected portions of the Guru Granth Sahib with commentary: Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Sudha Satyae, Sukhmani Sahib, Asa di Vaar and Shlok from Mahalla 6. The title page names Nanak Nirankari, who writes in the preface that Guru Nanak is remembered as Nirankar, formless, and gives the reading of Sukhmani Sahib verse 16-6 quoted in the book. The book states its own editorial rules in the preface: the original text is set in large letters with each tuk treated separately and numbered, the commentary is in small print with the original verse numbers in brackets, and where meanings are drawn from other sources these are given in parentheses, followed by answers to questions from readers. The preface discusses Guru Nanak's insistence on the one God beyond name and form, quoting verses from Shlok Mahal 6, Sukhmani Sahib, Vaar Asa and Bhai Gurdas, and it is printed and sold from Sultanwind Road, Amritsar.
